The Amazon Rainforest is home to more than 25 million species of insects, but many insects are leaving the Amazon Rainforest to find a new home as there is a growing problem of deforestation.
Rhino Beetle:
The Rhino Beetle is one of the many insects that live in the Amazon rainforest. There are 300 types of rhino beetles.
Predators: The Rhino Beetles predators include snakes and spiders
Diet: The Rhino Beetle eats dead wood from trees and different types of fungi. They also eat fruit, leaves and grasses.
Adaptation: The Rhino Beetle adapts to its surroundings by finding food and water. They find water by getting water due off plants. The Rhino Beetle has a long horn at the front of its body. This used to fight predators and to also eat its food. The main reason for having the horn is to fight over a girl with another male rhino beetle. It can also be used to fight over a feeding place.
Description:Many species of Rhino Beetle have a curved black back and black face and body. Other species of Rhino Beetle have a shiny back while others have a green- brown back. Species that aren't as popular have little fine black hairs that make it have a furry look. Different species are different sizes but the Hercules Rhino Beetle can grow to 18 cm long. This is the longest type of Rhino Beetle.
